About Us

Stu's love of fossils started in childhood, when his parents would take him to Walton-on-the-Naze to go fossil hunting!

Throughout his childhood they would regularly look for the Naze's top attraction... sharks teeth

Behind the scenes Stuart lives with his wife Kayleigh and sons Jacob and Oliver where they go fossil hunting regularly!

Their favourite spots being, dinosaur fossils in Yaverland, ammonites and belemnites in Dorset and of course Walton-on-the-Naze! Except this time they like to add Neptunea shells, whale bone and pyritised wood amongst the sharks teeth!

Stu's Prehistoric Zoo was created out of a love of fossils and the prehistoric world and aims to provide affordable authentic fossils and educational items for all ages! We cater to fossil enthusiasts, schools, party bags and gift buyers, offering items from dinosaur bone and teeth to marine fossils such as shark teeth, ammonites, crinoid stars!

Stu's other obsession are animals! In his day job as "Ranger Stu" he visits thousands of children a year and provides educational animal lectures to schools, animal parties and provides dinosaur shows for schools and other organisations too with his baby triceratops Sarah!

His engaging manner has seen him work in some iconic venues such as a regular spot at The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, Hamleys, National Geographic Kids and several television and radio appearances including his numerous appearances on Channel 4's 'Sunday Brunch'
